1. Shipping & Fulfillment Policy

Three Buoys Fishing Tackle operates from our fulfillment and engineering hub in Elkton, Maryland (Cecil County). All orders placed on threebuoysfishing.com are processed under the following shipping guidelines:

Free 2-Day Regional Shipping ($75+)

Orders of $75.00 or more ship FREE with 2-day delivery across our primary regional zone: Maryland, Delaware, Washington DC, Virginia, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Orders under $75 within this 6-state zone ship at a standard flat rate of $8.99.

Same-Day Order Cutoff

Orders received before 2:00 PM EST Monday through Friday are packed and dispatched the same day. Orders received after 2:00 PM EST or on weekends/holidays will ship the next business day.

1.1 One-Piece Rod Packaging & Oversize Handling

Proprietary one-piece fishing rods (including the MIDCHANNEL RF1-70MF 7'0" spinning rod) require heavy-duty reinforced PVC or rigid cardboard shipping tubes to ensure 0% breakage during transit. Rod shipments carry a standard carrier oversize handling charge for non-regional destinations outside MD/DE/DC/VA/NJ/PA. Inspect the exterior tube upon delivery — if damaged by carrier, refuse delivery or notify carrier immediately.

1.2 Dropship Catalog Shipments

Orders containing third-party dropshipped items (lures, terminal tackle, bulk line) may arrive in multiple packages from separate fulfillment facilities. Tracking numbers for all shipments will be posted to your order status dashboard.

2. Return & Satisfaction Guarantee Policy

30-Day Guarantee

2.1 Three Buoys Flagship Guarantee (30 Days)

We stand behind our proprietary engineering. The MIDCHANNEL RF1-70MF rod and FAIRLEAD 3000 reel carry a 30-day "On-The-Water" satisfaction guarantee. If within 30 days of purchase you are not completely satisfied with product performance, contact customer support at (410) 398-3800 for an Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. Returned items must include original components and accessories.

2.2 Dropshipped Tackle & Accessories (15 Days)

Unopened third-party lures, terminal tackle, line spools, and accessories may be returned within 15 days of delivery for a full refund minus shipping fees. Opened line spools, custom-rigged Terminal kits, or clearance items marked "Final Sale" are non-refundable.

2.3 RMA Process

  1. Contact customer support via email at support@threebuoysfishing.com or phone (410) 398-3800 with your Order Number.
  2. Receive your prepaid return shipping label (for defective/warranty returns) or return address instructions.
  3. Pack the item securely in original packaging or appropriate protective rod tube.
  4. Refunds are processed within 3–5 business days after inspection at our Elkton facility back to your original payment method.

1-Year Limited Warranty

Covers manufacturer defects in graphite layup, epoxy bonding, guide ring separation, reel seat threading, and cork integrity for 1 year from purchase date.

*Excludes high-stick breakage, car door/tailgate impacts, or rod modification.

FAIRLEAD 3000 Reel Warranty

2-Year Mechanical Warranty

Covers drive gear teeth, main shaft alignment, anti-reverse bearing clutch, bail wire assembly, and carbon drag washer stack for 2 full years.

*Requires fresh water rinse after salt/brackish exposure.

Recreational fishing seasons, size limits, daily bag limits, and gear restrictions change frequently throughout the Mid-Atlantic region by order of state natural resource agencies (MD DNR, DE DNREC, VA DWR, PA Fish & Boat, NJ DEP, DC DOEE, ASMFC). Three Buoys Fishing Tackle provides regulation directories for educational reference only. Anglers are strictly responsible for verifying current legal rules directly with state licensing authorities prior to harvesting fish.

Boating, Wading & Water Safety Warning

Tidal currents, swift river discharge, submerged riprap, deep mud flats, unpredictable weather, and sudden water level changes present severe drowning and injury risks. Always wear an approved Personal Flotation Device (PFD), monitor active NOAA weather alerts, practice barbless hook conversions near children, and never wade alone in fast current rivers such as the Susquehanna or Potomac.

  • Payment transactions are processed securely via encrypted, PCI-DSS Level 1 payment gateways (Shopify Storefront / Stripe). Three Buoys servers do not store credit card numbers or CVV security codes.
